Blog Prompt from DSP

Blog prompt: May 11 is Mother’s Day. Tell about your mother or a mother figure in your life.

My mom is the most unbelievably strong and beautiful woman. I had hoped to be half of the woman she is growing up. She enjoyed gardening, cooking/baking, spending time with her grandchildren, camping, reading books, quilt making, sewing different things and so much more. Now when I said she enjoyed (past tense) she no longer can do these things (well she still enjoys her grandchildren) If you want to know more about this read my post here I still call her and ask questions about raising kids, cooking/baking or anything else I have a problem with. She always has the best advise!
I got a funny about one time I called her and I'm going to tell you about it:
I have my dad's wonderful (not) temper, my mom is the cool calm one, I got mad at the only grocery store we had in town, they jacked the prices up so high just because they were the only ones around so when we finally got a big WalMart store I vowed never to go back to that store along with many other people. Well then one day my check was denied at WalMart because they said there was no funds in the account. Hubby had just gotten paid that day so I know there was money in the account. I went to the bank and pulled cash to pay for my groceries and once again vowed not to EVER go to WalMart again. I called my mom and told her about my "fit" and she said "So hows these fits working for you?" I said "Not good Mom, small town 2 stores and I vowed never to go to either of them!" She laughed so hard. I love to hear my Mom's laugh, its the next best sound in the world, first would be hearing my kids laugh.
If you would like to join in on the blog prompt its at DSP. I joined just because of the blog prompts but normally forget to do them.
Once again thanks for stopping by and reading what I have to say. Have a great weekend and for all the mothers out there Happy Mother's Day!

I love the part about your mom, but I really loved the part about banning yourself from the stores. Believe me, I have done the same thing!!!!!! Have a wonderful Mother's Day.

lol My family always says that I cannot come back from the grocery store without a story. Its generally true! Like the other day a man stole my bags right in front of the cashier, manager and security guard and no one did ANYTHING to stop him. People should get together and write a book on grocery store fiascoes. lol

Happy Mother's Day, Robin and thanks for joining in with the prompts. I got a giggle out of reading your story. We live in a small town too, but we have grocery stores everywhere.
